Totara Waters
Totara Waters is a 2-acre subtropical garden set on the upper Waitemata Harbour in Auckland.
Development began in 1999 by Peter and Jocelyn Coyle, whereby extensive planting of rare and unusual plants have been included in the garden.
It is an oasis-like setting featuring palms, bromeliads, aloes and agaves against a harbour backdrop. An indication of what can be achieved in the mild Auckland climate, the garden is just seven years old but planting of already-mature specimens has created a well-established look.
