Siberia Experience

The Siberia Experience is a 4 hour wilderness adventure in Mount Aspiring World Heritage National Park, and leaves from Makarora at the head of Lake Wanaka.

This trip will allow you to enjoy untouched scenery from the air, on land and from the water. Mountains, rivers, glaciers, alpine lakes, rain forest, waterfalls and more - this is a chance to see it all from a variety of different perspectives.

The experience begins with a 25 minute fixed-wing plane flight with dramatic views of the National Park. Mountain lakes, hanging valleys, and rain forests are all part of the equation.

The second leg of the journey will see you land in the remote Siberia Valley, where you will begin a 3 hour walk through valleys and native beech forest on a well marked track linking the Siberia Valley with the wilderness of the Wilkin Valley.

The third and final stage starts with a rendezvous on the banks of the Wilkin River with your jet boat for a thrilling and uniquely scenic 30 minute boat ride back to Makarora.
