Wairakei International Golf Course
Situated in the countryside just outside the Central Plateau's Lake Taupo, Wairakei International Golf Course is surrounded by rugged terrain.
Designed by English architect Commander John Harris, every hole presents a different challenge. Its fairways are lined with magnificent trees, and there are an abundance of natural and man-made hazards.
Wairakei was the first golf course in New Zealand to actively target the tourist market, and recent renovations to the clubhouse, the building of a new driving range, and the development of a pro shop complex of international standard has meant that the location and facilities have now reached their full potential.
